We Made It!

WOW! We are finally here in Japan. It feels so surreal to even say that, but as of Tuesday we have been in Japan! Basically living in the future because I am 13 hours ahead of Georgia’s time. 

What We’ve Been Up To

This week is training camp week which means that the days have consisted of worship, teachings (about culture, evangelism, and feedback), activation (where we get to put teachings into action), and fellowship with each other. God has been so intentional and kind in letting this group get close so fast. I’ve gotten to meet with my individual team too, and the way that the Lord so intentionally placed us together has been so beautiful to see and experience. I am incredibly thankful for this group already and cannot wait to start ministry with them. 

While exploring Japan

Contrary to back home, here we walk ALL the time which is awesome but so different. There is a unique cleanliness and quietness to the city here. In addition to that, there are countless seven elevens, matcha everywhere, and too many signs that I cannot read. It has been interesting trying to connect with people because the only word I can remember in Japanese is arigato (thank you) and you can’t really start a conversation with that, but I am confident I will learn more. Plus the locals I’ve tried talking to are super friendly and helpful HALLELUJAH. 

First Evangelism Day

Today our team had the opportunity to actually go out into the city evangelizing and making relationships with people. That was something I have never done in that way before, but something that was incredible. We went out into the park and had conversations with locals. We met a Christian and got to talk to her and we also talked to a man whose religion was something we’d never heard of. We no doubt planted seeds and got wheels turning, and that is enough. I am excited to see what all Jesus does. Something I have realized about myself is that I really love the relational part of evangelism. The getting to know, getting to see, and getting to love. I am excited to grow in that and see the things God does.
